SEO can be quite complicated, but you can absolutely develop a keyword strategy and take care of the essentials on your own. Creating incredible content that people will want to share is still the best way for link building. The source of a link matters a great deal to how much weight it carries in Google’s algorithm. Most people never click beyond the first page of results (which only shows 10 web pages), meaning there will be little/no traffic for those ranking in positions 11+. For brands that can’t afford a full-service SEO agency, the mention of the word “link building” is enough to make them flinch. It is widely understoodin the industry that search engine optimization should be built in, as early as possible, to the entire site development strategy, from choosing a content management system (CMS) and planning site architecture to developing on-page content. If your site uses a lot of imagery, consider adding a Pin It button to allow Pinterest users to easily add images to their boards. For sites with lots of high-quality product, inspirational or instructional images, Pinterest can be a major driver of traffic - especially given that every Pin and Repin of your image includes a link back to your site. Use sub-directories rather than sub-domains when possible. Sub-domains do not share link love from the main domain as it is treated as a different domain.
