Google defines duplicate content as large blocks of text used across multiple pages, or even other websites, that are exactly the same or very similar. Simply put, you don’t want to use large blocks of the same text on more than one page of your website. Keywords should never be used to try to trick or mislead human beings or Google spiders.. This means using keywords that do not exactly describe the contents of your page, repeating a keyword over and over in a way that in not natural (known as “keyword stuffing”) or using any other black hat SEO tactics (like keywords in a white font on a white background) are all off limits. With for instance the rise of voice search, longer keyphrases become more and more common. Using a long keyphrase five times in your 300-word-article will look so unnatural, that it’s not a good practice at all, where using a certain keyword five times might fit there. Adding linksand information to a forum signature, for example, is a good way to quickly spread awareness about your website, especially if you post often on a specific forum. Outbound links to related pages helps Google figure out your page’s topic. It also shows Google that your page is a hub of quality info.

How To Spot DoFollow Links

Use Fetch as Google to test whether Google can crawl and index important pages within your site. You want your business to show up on Google when people search for something, but what? The first step to SEO success is to decide which search terms (keywords) are the best fit for what you do and if anybody out there is using them now. The goal of SEO is not just getting visitors to your site, but getting the right type of visitors to your site. To many users the personalization of search results is helpful and convenient, but an increasing number of users are disturbed by the extent to which the sites they encounter are being shaped by forces outside of their control. Take a few minutes to jot down some word combinations that website visitors might use to find you. Once you’ve got a healthy list of keyword options, it’s time to see if people are searching for them. A solid place to start is Google’s free Keyword Planner, which helps you research keyword ideas and estimate how well they’ll perform in search results. To increase your CTR, create a custom description that describes what your page is about and what the reader can expect to get out of visiting your page. You also want to include your target keyword. Think about the searcher’s intent when crafting this description.

Have you ever monitored the viewing pattern of people visiting your website? This is the pattern in which people view, in this case, websites. Link Exchange is another good way for building links. However, you need to be careful with this one. I am not asking to go around ‘asking people for links’. Just move subtly with it. If you’re an SEO-newbie you’ll probably hear lots of new and complicated terms. Long tail SEO can attract traffic. Quality and visibility. This is truly the great secret to SEO and content. But the blogging holy grail is just this: A quality blog improves your Google ranking, which will draw leads to your website and encourage them to make purchases.

Let the world know you are creating fabulous content

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant from SEO Hull, commented: "Getting people to your website is great, keeping them there is better, but converting them to subscribers or buyers is the ultimate! The Internet highways are becoming more crowded by the day, and subscribers will help maintain a steady flow of traffic and help keep your brand top of mind. Be sure to set up conversions using Google Analytics, so you know your conversion rate and can improve it by tweaking things on your site." Most webmasters believe Google crawls their website in one go and will continue until everything’s crawled. Do a thorough check of your site to make sure it's displaying correctly with no missing content or error messages. If you've recently added a feature or new site design it could be it's slowing the site speed down or causing other problems. It’s not as easy to make a site easy to crawl as you might desire. There is an immense difference between a 10-page Website and a 10,000,000-page Website. The search engine will determine how many pages it crawls and how often it crawls each page. The SEO specialist’s job is to give the search engine as many reasons to crawl a page as possible. In other words, search engine optimization works by managing and improving crawl. Study your competitors’ linking profile

Despite previous assumptions, a link from a 301 redirected page shouldn’t lose any PageRank compared to a link from a non-301 redirected page. SEO is not hard. It does, however take time – it involves technical tweaks on your website, competitive analysis/content strategy, and building links from around the web. Google only show sitelinks for results when they think they’ll be useful to the user. If the structure of your site doesn’t allow Google's algorithms to find good sitelinks, or they don’t think that the sitelinks for your site are relevant for the user’s query, Google won’t show them. If nobody has heard of your brand or company name (and it’s not part of the important keyword phrases) put it at the end of the title tag. Do notcopy another site’s content without asking permission first. It’s bad for you, the site you’re copying from and the reader too.

Set up 301 redirects

Sometimes the best way to get links is not to ask for them. That doesn't mean you should sit back, do nothing and wait for links to appear. Spend time creating content and making your site as attractive and easy to link to as possible. Which pages and posts are most important? These should have other pages and posts linking to them. Make sure to link to the most important content. Are you worried that your aesthetically appealing website is not getting you the right amount of traffic? Does it bother you that all the money you spent on developing a very creative website is going waste. Is your online business so vast that you are having trouble maintaining your site and the beautifully designed structures have all gone haywire as your business developed? Play around with different content styles in a variety of formats -- blog posts, site pages, webinars, videos, etc. Make the most of the diversity of options out there! Users appreciate variety. Many marketers are now promoting that stuff like link building is dead and so on. Let me tell you, link building is not dead.
